Over the past 9 months, I have been tackling many key issues that have concerned our community while learning how better to serve our district. As well, I have assembled a passionate constituent advisory cabinet who will represent my office and you will begin to see them out and about in every quadrant of the 90 house district of Georgia beginning spring of 2022 bringing the concerns of the people back to the statehouse. So when you see them, you see me.
I have worked in tandem with my colleagues at the Georgia General Assembly during the redistricting of the State, House, and Congressional mapping of Georgia during the special session and fought hard to preserve much of the 90th DST. as possible. In this, our district will change to the new House District 91 beginning January 2022. The new DST. will continue to include parts of DeKalb, Rockdale, and Henry counties bringing forth Ellenwood and a larger portion of Stockbridge, GA. I look forward to meeting so many new friends from district 91.
As we move into the new session beginning January 10th, 2022, I will be introducing several bi-partisan bills that will incorporate healthcare, term expansion for the house and senate, and sponsoring a bill that will propose a reasonable pay increase for DeKalb and Rockdale counties for our Judicial judges who have not had a pay increase in 20+ years and, who's pay scales are not equal to those in smaller counties across Georgia.
Over the past summer and into the fall, it was such a pleasure to celebrate and commend many of our constituents as well as our peace officers and educational institutes for outstanding service to our community and for making Georgia a great and safe place to live, work, and play. My constituent advisory cabinet will continue to seek out those individuals and organizations who are indeed deserving of the mighty state of Georgia to take notice of their awesome achievements.
During this holiday season, I took part in numerous Toys for Tot gifting days and my heart has expanded 10 fold. The joy in the eyes of a child, the joy of service to my community and the joy of meeting new challenges has been my greatest honor and I look forward to continuing to serve you!
